What is colonic irrigation?
Colon hydrotherapy, also known as colonic irrigation, is the therapeutic use of filtered water at body temperature, delivered through a tube at very low pressure, with the objective of cleansing the colon walls and diluting the bacterial toxin concentration in the large intestine. The colon is about 5ft long and 2.5in in diameter.
What system do we use?
We use the closed system, the device being the latest available in technology. It incorporates a water filtration system, being an ultraviolet light steriliser, two additional filters, one being carbon, and a potent germicidal solution. We have added a pre-heater water tank for increased safety.
We use only disposable colonic speculum packs. We take absolutely no chances on our clients; so we have not, and will never consider metal or other re-usables.
What to expect during a typical visit?
Before the colon cleansing session, you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire, about your past health problems, surgical or other medical interventions, as well as any medications you are taking. The colonic irrigation session will proceed only if there are no contraindications.
All being well, we will then ask you to go to the en-suite bathroom, undress from the waist down and cover yourself up with a large towel.
The colon hydrotherapy speculum allows for the attachment of a water line and waste line. The water line transports water into the rectum and colon. The waste line allows for the drainage of discharging waste directly into the sewers. Discharging waste can be viewed through the waste line, as well as the illuminated viewing window of the colon hydrotherapy the machine.
During a colonic irrigation session, we apply gentle abdominal massage to help loosen faecal matter. The colonic irrigation procedure is without soiling or odour.
The colonic irrigation procedure lasts 45 minutes, but you should allow altogether an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half for form filling and visiting the toilet after the procedure.

How many sessions?
The optimum number of colonic irrigation sessions will depend upon your individual needs. Soaking starts off the loosening process of impacted waste, and this beneficial aspect is lost with colonic irrigation sessions too widely spaced in time.
Those with chronic conditions may need more frequent colon hydrotherapy sessions until regularity is achieved. Based upon experience, we will advise on what to do next. Sometimes the slightest diet change can improve regularity.
Stress, Constipation and Intoxification
Faced with danger, prehistoric man had two options: fight or flight. In both cases, the body boosts performance by shutting down the digestive system. Today, you still experience digestive dysfunction when stressed. This, you know anyway. Stressed at work, at home, or both? For how many hours daily would that be? With the digestive system not functioning as it should, more toxins end up in the liver for detoxification, then expelled with bile, which in cases is re-absorbed in the body, together with toxins. Round and round it goes.
With hypnotherapy/NLP/Energy Psychology Therapy, there are no side effects as with medication, and one session is all it takes. Those around you will probably be feel happier too, although they might not let on. Sooner done than said!
Do you expect to lose weight after your colonic?
Le me debunk this straight away. With some carrying up to 10kg of waste, this is expected, or at least until they start gorging again. At the other extreme, a boxer needed to lose 2lb. He would most probably end up weighing more immediately after colonic hydrotherapy, as his body would have absorbed some water. This water is usually eliminated within 2 hours.
To elaborate even further, fat is lost after a colonic because many feel motivated to change their habits, because they feel good after toxin elimination: they exercise regularly and eat healthily.
But what if they cannot stop eating? Depending on where you are on this scale, book either a hypnotherapy/NLP session, or for hypnotic gastric band. Going under the knife is always risky, and the service I provide is not.

AFTER YOUR COLONIC HYDROTHERAPY TREATMENT, PLEASE ABSTAIN FROM ALCOHOL, RICH AND SPICY FOODS FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS
It is now up to you to take an active part in the continuing health maintenance process, by reviewing your diet and lifestyle, including having colon hydrotherapy.
On occasion, if there has been a longstanding condition of constipation or several health problems, a slight headache or fatigue may be experienced after the first few treatments. If this is so, try to rest and drink plenty of water. In some cases, you may feel slightly bloated for a few hours after the colonic, as the untrapped gas makes its way to the exit. If this is the case, have a cup of peppermint tea and lie down with a hot water bottle for a while. In very rare cases tiredness persists for a few days, as the body continues to detoxify itself. In these cases we recommend having another colonic treatment to accelerate the process.
Some water is absorbed through the colon wall during the colonic, and one may notice an increased need to urinate for a few hours afterwards. This beneficial effect of flushing the kidneys may be enhanced by drinking a few glasses of water with the juice of half a lemon added to each glass. Since the colon has been cleared of solid matter, it may take a couple of days before it fills up again and normal bowel movements are resumed.
DIGESTION AND ELIMINATION TIPS
This breakfast has been traditionally used by those wanting to have a steady supply of energy in the morning, good digestion, regular elimination and a beautiful skin. It requires minimum preparation and is ready to be eaten in the morning.
Before you go to bed, take a tub of yoghurt (soya yoghurt if you are lactose intolerant) and mix it with orange or other fruit juice or even water to form a shake. Throw in a handful of porridge oats, linseeds, a couple of chopped prunes, sunflower seeds and a couple of chopped apricots. Leave in the fridge to ferment overnight, and eat in the morning on its own or with some fresh fruit or berries.
Eat smaller meals. Grazing is better than gorging.
Eat simply cooked or raw foods – a diet rich in fruit and vegetables, especially leafy, will add to the cleansing effect and help to regulate the bowel.
Chew slowly and keep the mouth shut while chewing, to avoid air getting into your digestive system.
Buy local and buy in season. By purchasing your groceries from your local farm shops and farmers' markets, you will always get nutrient-rich fresh food, all the while contributing to the survival of organic farming.
Be mindful of your choices of protein. Vary red meat, white meat fish and vegetarian meals.
Drink plenty of water. Do not drink ice cold water with your meals. Sip room temperature water throughout the day.
If griping occurs, drink hot peppermint, fennel or chamomile infusions and avoid cold drinks, carbonated drinks and gassy foods.
Avoid artificial sweeteners; use fructose or honey to sweeten your desserts or drinks.
Whole grains (rice, barley, buckwheat etc) are better nutritionally than pasta and breakfast cereals, and the contain the true roughage that cleans up your digestive system. Generally, they are better for you very slightly undercooked. Soak overnight before cooking and discard soak water.
Beans and pulses have a high fibre content, and they are a very valuable part of your diet. Introduce them into your diet carefully and slowly to avoid excess gas.
A probiotic supplement recommended by your therapist will be useful to maintain the optimum balance of beneficial bacteria in your gut.
HEALTH MAINTENANCE IDEAS
ONE DAY DETOX
Thoroughly wash one lemon add one pint of water and liquidise. Use complete lemon, including skin and pips.
Strain and discard pulp.
Add five pints of water making a total of six pints.
Start detoxing at about 8am.
Drink one glass of the mixture every 15 minutes for one hour.
Thereafter, take one glass of the mixture every 45 minutes until all the mixture has been drunk.
If you start the detox at 8am, you will finish between 3 and 4pm.
You may eat a large salad at tea time (optional).
EPSOM SALT BATH
Fill bath with warm water; hot enough to last a while, but no too hot as to be uncomfortable.
Empty 250 – 500g of Epsom salt into the water, distributing it evenly.
Step in and stretch out to soak for up to 30 minutes. This will open the skin's pores and eliminate toxins and poisons. Do not use soap.
A quick warm shower will rinse away any salt residue.
CASTOR OIL PACK
After bathing, take a bottle of castor oil, a roll of cling film and a heating pad or hot water bottle.
Spread the castor oil over the liver first (on the top right hand corner of the abdominal cavity under the ribcage), continuing over the abdomen and colon. Wrap the cling film completely over the castor oil, then place the heating pad or hot water bottle over the abdomen and relax for about an hour.
Ther combined action of the castor oil and heat penetrates into the intestines and softens encrusted faecal matter, loosening it from within the pockets of the colon. This helps the removal of the encrusted matter during the detox regime.

Directions if coming by train: From Thornton Heath train station, turn right, pass Iceland, then the fishmonger. Melfort Road is at the next corner, at the mini-roundabout. Walk for about 3 minutes to the next junction with Brook Road. Natural Solutions is at the corner, by the zebra crossing.
If you are travelling from central London, take the train from Victoria, usually platform 11. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Thornton Heath. Look for the train to East or West Croydon via Norbury.
If you are travelling from From London Bridge, take the train to East or West Croydon via Norbury. Journey time about 20 minutes.
